Greetings to all owners.

The board often gets questions related to improving the internet access at the clubhouse as well as getting internet to all individual units. As a result of the recent virtual learning experience that the State of Wisconsin school districts implemented, the shortcomings of internet access in certain parts of Door County (and other parts of the state) became more obvious. We have  attached a link to a recent article in The Pulse that may provide some owners with a little more information as to the limitations faced in Door County and other rural parts of the state (and country).

The board continues to look at alternatives for the clubhouse but the options are quite limited. As a reminder, our current package with HughesNet does have limitations. We are not on an unlimited data plan. Our current plan allows for 75 gb of data per month. When we go over that limit the speed is slowed down to what some of us remember as dsl service. (Painfully slow). 75 gb of data goes relatively fast. Some owners will send family members over to the clubhouse to watch videos or play games and those two activities consume the data quickly.

We continue to ask owners not to use the clubhouse to stream video, movies, or play games because of this. The local library has the capability to access high speed internet to accommodate this need. Many owners also have invested in personal mobile hotspots in order to provide internet at their personal units. Many mobile cellular companies have these types of plans available.

Here is the link to the Pulse article.
